Golf Classic raises funds for Workforce Development Program

Perfect weather greeted golfers at Berkshire's 16th Annual Golf Classic, with 132 golfers from around the region, on July 22nd at the Colonie Golf & Country Club. Most of the golfers were business executives and employees from our many sponsors, who play a huge role in the success of our annual fundraising golf event. After a day of golf, the players moved indoors for a fine dinner and awards ceremony.

The event brought in $90,000, with proceeds benefiting the youth in Berkshire’s exciting, innovative Youth Workforce Development Program. In addition to rigorous academic classes, our youth gain important workforce readiness skills, plus specific job skills and paid work experience in various trades. They learn how to get—and keep—good jobs that lead to a lifetime of success. Specialty training areas include Automotive Mechanics, Building Trades, Culinary Trades, Nursery & Landscaping, and more. General skills for success include writing effective resumes and standing out in job interviews.

We thank ALL of our fine sponsors, who help make it possible for us to provide the most effective programming for some of New York State's most traumatized and vulnerable youth.
